Happy New Year, and welcome to the new website! One of the key features of the new site is this blog, so I’m glad you’ve found this page. I do love to write, but in recent years, I have rarely found time to devote enough time to the process, so I hope this medium will reestablish a connection between brain and keyboard. I’ll try to avoid making this “yet another fly fishing blog” and make it a tool to share ideas, especially the day to day lessons of fishing and guiding that can be expressed in brief posts.
Although I do not have time to moderate comments, I hope readers will respond to blog posts with e-mails. I am genuinely interested in your ideas and always willing to learn something new.
My clients had better be ready for even more New Zealand stories in 2014, as I am leaving in a few weeks for another adventure on the South Island. It’s not a tough decision to leave the Livingston winter breezes for a few weeks of friendly people, decent wine, and big brown trout. I will return with better spotting skills and a fresh perspective on Montana angling, so I hope I can offer better guiding to my clients this season. Here’s to a great 2014 for all of us.
