In case you haven’t discovered the events calendar on the new site, I will be presenting programs to a consortium of fly fishing clubs in southern California in May. I have been glued to the computer for the last couple of weeks working on the new program, which will center on spring creek tactics and techniques, with a view toward how these approaches can be applied to any trout fishing situation. I hope attendees will come away with some specific ideas on how to improve their fishing on spring creek and tailwater fisheries, but also gain a slightly different perspective on trout fishing in general. As my regular clients know, my goal as a guide and instructor is not to just put more fish in your net, but to help you have a richer and more enjoyable experience on the water. If you live in the southern California area, I hope to see you at one of the meetings.
In other news for May, I have donated a guided fly fishing trip to the my local animal shelter’s annual fundraiser, the “Fur Ball”, which will be held on May 16 at Chico Hot Springs. Even if you can’t attend the event, you can buy a $50 ticket for the Luxury Raffle—only 100 tickets will be sold for this raffle, and the winner gets first dibs on any auction item, including my trip. Check out Stafford’s Animal Shelter’s website to buy tickets for the event or for the Luxury Raffle.
